If you haven't checked it out you need to! It's a great place where second grade teachers can collaborate and
My first week at school couldn't have gone any better! I'm loving my group of kids and am starting to remember why I started teaching. Last year was a tough year for me...it's nice to have some reassurance that I'm doing the right thing. I'm working on the finishing touches to my classroom so be looking for pictures soon.

Every student can't wait for recess. I have to admit as a teacher I'm pretty big on it myself. They need that time to run and play and yell. I hate days that mother nature throws a wrench in our recess plans. So last year for my sanity sake I created a ring full of Indoor Recess ideas. It has been a life saver. I'm sharing that with you today. It's a 16 page document that has two cards on a page. Yep, you read that right 32 ideas for indoor recess and all you have to do is print them off, and cut them out. I did not come up with these ideas. I just complied them from my many resources and cutesied them up. I hope you can put them to good use as I have. Click the link not the picture.
You are so fantastic to post your indoor recess ideas! Thank you so much for sharing!!! Your ideas are GREAAAAT! :o)

Just found your blog and you have such great ideas! Love these indoor recess cards--we've already had a few inside recess days due to INSANE heat! These will come in handy.

This is such a super idea. I can't tell you how bored my kids get during indoor recess! They do love some eraser tag though!

In case you were wondering what eraser tag is, you divide the class into two teams and give the first person in each team a white board or chalk board eraser. They place the eraser on their head and they have to chase/tag the other person with the eraser. I love this because since they have the eraser on their heads, they can't run or else it will fall off! haha If it falls off they have to stop and put it back on their head, then they can chase again! It is so cute!
